I sit among abundant blessings,
Not giving into the temptations of self pity,
Keeping my life as a holy place belonging to God,
I look around for joy and find it,
In these prayers prayed a million times,
This is what I want to think about – day and night,
I will tramp around the mountains,
With thoughts guided by a search for goodness,
Holiness watered by regular solitude,
Seeking where life is breaking through.
All those half hearted thoughts are left behind,
I will leave misery to cry alone,
Remembered by no one,
Dying a slow death of loneliness.
My way is assured – fear is the dead end,
Misery begets misery, but I don’t live there,
This morning I walk the way of hope – watched lovingly.
